Joshua 10:7-11 Holy God; Holy Jesus

Joshua 10:7-11 (NASB) “So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him and all the valiant warriors.   The LORD said to Joshua, "Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands; not one of them shall stand before you."  So Joshua came upon them suddenly by marching all night from Gilgal.  And the LORD confounded them before Israel, and He slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and pursued them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon and struck them as far as Azekah and Makkedah.  As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth-horon, the LORD threw large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died; there were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the sons of Israel killed with the sword.”

Who is Jesus to you?  Do you think of Jesus with the long flowing hair and smooth nearly effeminate features hung on so many Sunday School walls when we were kids?  Do you picture the Jesus who said, "Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16b (NASB)  Is God to you you a bit firmer as  you consider passages such as, Matthew 21:12 (NASB)  “And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.”  Is He more ?  Is He safe passage?  “Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’” John 14:6 (NASB)

While all these pieces of Jesus are true if left in isolation or even filled in with like passages it paints an incomplete portrait of our Lord and Savior.

While it is true that Jesus is love, (1 John 4:8) there is much more to Him than our image of love.  Love is in fact more than warm and fuzzy.  Love is Holy.  Holy is incapable of tolerating anything unholy.  Holy equals Righteous.  And now you’re starting to get nervous – am I right?

Well, we’ve glossed over a few things that we have to go back and clear up.  First, that passage we quoted that says, Jesus is Love – actually says this, “The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:8 (NASB)  So the first two points to make are first, Jesus is not referenced by name, it is “God” with a capital G who is mentioned.  And second, if you do not love, you do not know God.

So how can you get away with saying “Jesus is Love” Dale?  -- Here’s how.  John also writes,  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1 (NASB)  So, the Word equals God.  So what you say – that doesn’t make Jesus equal to God.  Read on my friend.  “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.  John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.'" For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.  For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” John 1:14-17  So, Jesus is God and Jesus is Love.

Where did I come up with this God is Holy stuff and who says anyone or anything is unholy?  We can clear this one up pretty quick with a New Testament quote from Peter, “Because it is written, ‘YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.’" 1 Peter 1:16 (NASB) and the other part comes from Paul, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23 (NASB)  Do we have to point out that sin is somehow less than holy?  That is clearly short of God’s standard of holiness.

Ok – what has this got to do with the passage from Joshua.  Simply this.  Joshua picked up the mantle as it were from Moses who had led God’s chosen people out of Egypt through the wilderness and to the Promised Land.  Moses led them there not once but twice you might recall.  On the first trip they arrived and sent twelve spies into the land to check it out and only two came back with reports that they should enter in.  Those two were Caleb and Joshua.

Because Moses failed to lead God’s people into the Promised Land they had to wander the wilderness another forty years and when they came back another generation had been raised up.  Only this new generation plus the two Caleb and Joshua were allowed to enter in.  Only Caleb and Joshua who had given the report that the inhabitants of the land could be defeated plus the new generation not yet circumcised until just before entering in as a way to separate the generations.

What was God’s command to Joshua and His people upon entering the Promised Land?    "Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.  Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.  From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory.  No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.”  Joshua 1:2-6 (NASB)

He said take the land I am giving to you.  He said no one there will stand against you.  In later passages as the various battles are depicted even more explicit instructions are given about leaving no survivors.  This holy God commands utter destruction.

So my question comes back to this.  Who is Jesus to you?  Is He only the warm and fuzzy Teddy Bear Jesus or is He your Holy God Jesus?  For me, He is both.  AMEN!

Hebrews 13:17 Watch Over Your Souls

Hebrews 13:17  Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you. (NASB)

Membership in the Church universal is accomplished in one way and one way only.  Upon salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by grace out-poured we are brought into a right relationship with God, sins are forgiven and we are issued eternal membership cards as it were.  This frankly is the only path.  “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’” John 14:6 (NASB)

But there are a lot of Christians out there bumping into one another with these “Membership” cards who don’t even know each other.  There is a master directory, “The book of lifePhilippians 4:3 (NASB) but it is locked away in heaven, not something we can access on the Internet.  So how do we identify with and have fellowship with our fellow believers as called for in Scripture?

There is another membership that is much more tangible where the other various commands of Scripture a lived out.  This is membership in the local church.  Much of the New Testament was addressed to the “Local church” and how it was to live out the Gospel with which it had been entrusted.  Some these days balk at whether local church membership is even a valid concept.  Is it?  Let Scripture be the guide.

Take this passage from Hebrews 13 as an example.  How is this possible without the local church and membership in it?  Let’s take a closer look.

It starts with, “Obey your leaders.”  Straight forward enough for you?  Okay, who do you point to for your church leaders?  The Pope?  The head of some denomination?  What about all you non-denominational folks?  Does this mean you are all disobedient to the Scripture because you have no church leadership?  Not at all!  This is a reference to your local church leaders, your elders from your local body.  You are to submit to them.

Why?  Because, “They keep watch over your souls.”  Now do universal Church leaders watch over the souls of every Christian?  Not the way local elders are able to watch over the souls of individuals in their local church.  Are you able to submit to universal Church leaders?  Not in an accountable way as you can local church leaders.  Why accountable?  “For they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account”.  You see those God has appointed to lead the local church have an accountability to watch over you.  That simply isn’t possible in the universal Church setting.

So membership in the local church helps both member and leader in this regard.  How you ask?  Membership identifies you as one to be cared for and looked after by these church leaders.  They know you and you in-turn know them.  The bonus that we won’t cover today is that you begin to know “One another” in the local assembly and you care for each other.  That is also a screaming argument for membership in the local church; mutual care.

The writer continues with a comment on how your behavior in submitting to leaders in membership affects them.  It says, “Let them do this with joy and not grief.”  In other words, do not behave in such a way as members that you cause your leaders to grieve.  Hmmmm!

Now why would my leaders grieve over their leadership of me?  There could be a number of specific reasons but they all settle on SIN!  When we let sin win in our lives, it brings grief to our leaders because they are the ones that are to be looking out for us and teaching us and helping us to grow in righteousness.  When sin wins our leaders grieve.  And, “This would be unprofitable for you.”  So, why is that – because my church leaders are going to take their pound of flesh?  Not at all.  It is not profitable to you because no sin is profitable and anything your church leaders face grief over cannot be profitable for you because it is rooted in sin.  Your church leaders are called to a mission of restoration and healing but it begins with confession and repentance.  Those first steps are often the stumbling block, the hindrance to recovery.

So, the Biblical model is one of local churches exhibiting mutual care.  Follow this model and get plugged in to a local assembly and heed the Scripture, “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.” AMEN!

Romans 2:28-29 Tender Hearted

Romans 2:28-29  For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.  But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God. (NASB)

Have you ever wondered about the label, “Tender hearted?”  I don’t know the actual origin of the phrase and at this point I have no interest in looking it up but I do think it fits particular people or moments in life.  I also think folks can build up layers of “Protection” for various reasons and wind up callused.  That callus though protective can also become a barrier to relationships; it can be a problem.

In the book of Romans Paul goes to great length to explain our Christian faith.  Many great men of faith have made it their lifetime endeavor to study and write on just this great book from our Bible.  It is deep and chewy and rich in helping us to understand the depraved state from which we come and the great gift of grace by the shed blood of Jesus which saves us.  If you grasp and believe what Paul presents in Romans your faith is on a solid foundation.

One of the themes presented early on is that there is no partiality in God between Jew or Greek.  That is, Jews and the rest of us.  He illustrates this with the picture of circumcision which of course was the ritual performed on every young Jewish boy prescribed in the Law setting them apart.  This ritual has its origin alongside the origin of the covenant God made with Abraham as a sign of that binding agreement.  We see it used throughout scripture including as the people of Israel wander through the wilderness.  Those who left Egypt had all been circumcised but those born in the wilderness were not.  Because of disobedience, the former generation were not allowed to enter the Promised Land and the sign of circumcision sorted the generations.  Before entering, Joshua was commanded to then circumcise this generation about to enter – Ouch!  There would have been up to 80 year old men (40 years x 2) uncircumcised that had to endure this ritual.

Back to Romans

Paul continues making this argument that the distinction between Jew and Greek is now gone.  And one of the chief symbols, circumcision of the flesh, is not what we should be considering.  Indeed, it is the circumcision of one’s heart that matters.

The verse makes the argument, “For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly” – what?  I thought this covenant and ritual was all about Abraham’s children.  Yes, it is – but it is Abraham’s offspring by faith that are counted.  That is the point here.  “But he is a Jew who is one inwardly” – by faith having that same connection Abraham did.  That is the covenant relationship.  The symbol of that covenant was circumcision so Paul makes the comparison, “Nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh” and continues, “And circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter”.

Whoa!  Those are fightin’ words Paul!  Do you mean the prescribed circumcision that generation upon generation of Jewish people have followed is of no value?  Yep!  That’s right.  As a symbol of the covenant God made with Abraham – circumcision of the flesh is of absolutely no value!  NONE!  That is exactly what Paul is saying.  By contrast what is of value is the true circumcision which cannot be seen as faith cannot be seen – it is a circumcision of one’s heart.

Paul indicates this heart work is that of the Holy Spirit, “by the Spirit, not by the letter”.  That is instructive too, this heart work is not something a man with a sharp instrument does one to another.  This is in fact delicate work the Holy Spirit, God Himself accomplishes in the life of men.

So was Paul coming up with a new idea?  Not at all.  Read this portion of God’s promise  … "The LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.  “Moreover the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live”. Deuteronomy 30:5-6 (NASB)

Did you get that?  Old Testament promise of God!  He will “Circumcise your heart” and so that you are able, “To love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.”

So, what does all this mean?  It means simply this.  Circumcision of the heart is the work of God that brings His covenant about in a person’s life through faith in Jesus Christ.  When His work on your heart brings about the necessary tenderness such that you may respond by faith, the circumcision is complete.  Only then are you enabled to “Love the LORD your God with all your heart.”  AMEN!

1 Timothy 4:6-8 Training for Today and Eternity

1 Timothy 4:6-8 “If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.  Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” ESV

Some of you following my travels on Facebook are aware that I’ve been spending a considerable amount of time in North Carolina of late.  It’s not just about the barbeque although that I must tell you has been one of the highlights.  The actual reason for my lengthy stay and multiple trips to the east has been for training.  Yes, it is training affiliated with my work and as training goes this has been some of the better time spent over the course of my career under its banner.

You too have had your share of “Training” I’m sure whether it be in the work environment or under the direction of an athletic coach at an earlier age.  Training of course is all about building us up.  It is about taking who we are going in and with proper affect – having some marked improvement when we come out the other side.  In my case, I have earned a nice “Diploma” to display on my office wall as a testament to my successful improvement in the various areas of endeavor.

But what does Scripture have to tell us about “Training?”  Is it there?  Having read the opening passage I’m sure you are aware that it is in fact addressed in Paul’s letter to his protégé Timothy.  In the course of this short section Paul actually gives value to two types of training but a much higher value to one.  Paul says, “If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus”.  What things?  For that we have to look back to the previous section (1Timothy 4:1-5)when Paul talks about certain deceivers that will try to trick believers into uncalled for restrictions around marriage and diet.  Paul is talking to Timothy about correcting that false teaching when he says, “If you put these things before the brothers …

Paul goes on to declare how it is that Timothy is able to do this, “Being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.”  Because Timothy was trained in the “Words of the faith” which today we would call Scripture, he was enabled to refute the false teaching.  Someone once taught how experts detect counterfeit currency to a group of students on a tour was not by learning every kind of counterfeit.  Rather the method is to learn the real thing so intimately that anything else is obviously NOT real.  That is the principle Paul is referring to here as well.  He is saying that Timothy’s expertise with the “Words of the faith” is such that he is able to detect and adequately challenge the false teaching.

Now Paul goes on and he indicates that there are other kinds of training that may take place too.  In this case, he refers to physical training or specifically“Bodily training”.  While Paul says this kind of training “is of some value” he goes on to say, “Godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

So I suppose this all comes down to perspective.  These past weeks during my class I was happy to see several in my class of 24 clearly proclaim their Christian faith as a part of church leadership, musicians in worship and various other aspects in appropriate ways.  I too shared the importance of my faith in my life in an appropriate way.  The message Paul has for Timothy and by extension to me and my fellow Christians in Class 57 is that as valuable as this training might be, it is “Being trained in the words of the faith” and to“Train yourself for godliness” that are of higher importance.

The reason given is clear – These latter things have value beyond our employment and even this whole life on earth.  These latter things are, “Of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”   The good news for my believing friends in class 57 is that Biblical principals really are consistent with much of the secular training we were given.   AMEN!

Matthew 19:3-9 War on Chicken

Matthew 19:3-9  Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?"  (4)  And He answered and said, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,  (5)  and said, 'FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'?  (6)  "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."  (7)  They *said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to GIVE HER A CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE AND SEND her AWAY?"  (8)  He *said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way.  (9)  "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery." (NASB)

So I took some time off this week, the week we would normally be at a lake – Tahoe ideally or Shaver when the gas price is too high to drag everything that far north.  But this year the calendar didn’t work for everyone so we stayed home.  I however had the days booked for vacation and took some time off.  Well, I did a few things around the house and yes I actually did come into work Friday but what I really did was watch the Olympics.  And of course – the War on Chicken!

I frankly had missed the CEO of Chick-fil-A declaring his support for the Biblical view of marriage and his financial support for a couple of organizations that promoted the same.  What I couldn’t miss was the media frenzy over the homosexual marriage supporters bashing this man’s transparency of belief.

On top of that I found it very interesting to find that these folks drew a comparison to Hitler and the KKK for someone standing on biblical principal claiming intolerance not only of homosexuality but marriage of homosexual couples; Intolerance of the “Intolerant”?  Is that what I heard?

Later in the discussion, I’ll not call it a debate – those who heeded the call of Governor Huckabee to support Chick-fil-A by buying lunch were called all sorts of names.  The Bible itself was bashed in several threads I read on Face Book as well.

So, if you’re reading this and you can’t subscribe to the fact the Word of God is the ultimate truth then we have nothing left to discuss.  YOU, may as well tune out now.  For those of you that believe God’s Word is true then stay tuned and we’ll look at what He says about the issue at hand.

First, the Scripture I’ve referred to today was shared by Christ when another group of haters, the Pharisees were trying to trick Jesus.  They asked a “Trick” question about divorce to see if they could stump Him.  They didn’t.  In answering their question for which they did not want to hear the answer, Jesus did give us some real insight into His original and perfect design.

He says, He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE”Referring back to Genesis, Jesus reminds us that the original design of God is one man and one woman.  He goes on and declares what is to happen as humans mature, FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH”This is clearly speaking of marriage.  The man, leaves the home in which he grows up and joins together with his wife and the two become one.  The players are equally clear – one man and one woman  just as He created them from the beginning”.

So, what is the BIG deal Dale?

Christians know and understand that marriage is designed and affirmed by God as a special institution between one man and one woman.  And something supernatural occurs in the marriage union, "So they are no longer two, but one flesh.”  And they are one flesh because of the marriage bond of one woman and one man joined together not of their own doing but by someone else altogether.  Jesus says, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."  So, in His own words, Jesus proclaims the union of a man and woman in marriage of His own doing and His own design.

That’s the BIG deal.

Now, sin is sin and two unregenerate people lusting in their flesh for one another even of the same sex is predictable.  Scripture says this, “For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. Romans 1:26-27 (NASB)  That was written by Paul nearly two thousand years ago, so should we be surprised that the behavior continues today?  No!

As I said, sin is sin and we’ve all sinned and fall short of God’s holy standard.  This is simply one more example.  The rub is when groups attempt to normalize the behavior.

Take the absurd to illustrate the point.  If a group begins harping on a position advocating sex between six year olds we would be up in arms and of course this is wrong.  But what if this group turned the argument into one of intolerance and said leave the six year olds alone, let them enjoy free love like everyone else and if you don’t you’re intolerant and bigoted just like Hitler and the KKK.  In fact this group wants to legally recognize free love between six year olds and bar any interruption parental or otherwise.

That’s what is going on here folks.  God’s Word clearly points to His design for marriage, specifically  heterosexual unions in the context of marriage between one man and one woman.  Outside of that there is a sin problem.  While individuals will always fall into sin of every sort, when institutional advocacy for making sin the lawful norm takes place, Christians must speak out.  AMEN!

Exodus 26:15-25 Architect, Engineer and Designer

Exodus 26:15-25  "Then you shall make the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing upright.  Ten cubits shall be the length of each board and one and a half cubits the width of each board.  There shall be two tenons for each board, fitted to one another; thus you shall do for all the boards of the tabernacle.  You shall make the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side.  You shall make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards, two sockets under one board for its two tenons and two sockets under another board for its two tenons;  and for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, twenty boards,  and their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board and two sockets under another board.  For the rear of the tabernacle, to the west, you shall make six boards.  You shall make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle at the rear.  They shall be double beneath, and together they shall be complete to its top to the first ring; thus it shall be with both of them: they shall form the two corners.  There shall be eight boards with their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board and two sockets under another board.” (NASB)

This week I am taking some vacation time off of work but as many are these days – this is a “Staycation”.  So, I needed a project.  We’ve had a covered area by our pool with slotted wood since it was built more than 15 years ago and I’ve wanted to make that a solid all weather roof for some time.  This is the time.  Construction, or shall I say – destruction started on Monday.

Right off the bat I met with the unexpected as I brought out my trusty wrecking bar to pop off the 2x2 redwood that was simply nailed up there.  Oops!  Not nailed, it had been screwed down.  Every piece had been screwed in place which of course made for good construction but made my job of taking it apart a challenge.  Out comes the electric drill with Phillips head screw driver attachment and away we go.  What I discovered of course was that I did not know what I was getting into as I began even the demolition phase.

By Tuesday morning I was ready to go shopping for materials having a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do from a construction standpoint.  Well, I didn’t have an inventory of the hardware store in mind as I put the thoughts in my head so there was quite a process of wandering and pondering as I pieced the project together mentally gathering the necessary materials.

It worked out that the measurements would provide for a two foot spacing.  So, I put the first hanger up and measured out two more feet to the next position.  Two more feet and – TROUBLE.  A light fixture and conduit was exactly in that position so I couldn’t put it there.  I had to deviate and go with two and a half feet on that one.  Then back to two feet for the remainder.

I’m not done with the project but I will just guarantee there will be unexpected challenges as I design as I build.  And that is the point of the passage I chose today from Exodus which is a portion of the detailed instructions given to Moses by God to the people of Israel for building the Tabernacle.  The Tabernacle was the precursor of the Temple and housed the Arc of the Covenant.  It was the portable version carried by Israel as they wandered through the desert on their way to the Promised Land.

So what is the significance?

God did not simply say, Moses – run down to Lowes and pick up a few rugs and some lumber and build me a tent.  He gave very detailed instructions.  This was the Lord’s house and He wanted it made a particular way.  He gave detailed instructions to Moses to have the Tabernacle materials prepared and ultimately constructed.  As they moved through the desert for decades, the Tabernacle went with them.  It was taken apart and then put back together in each new location.

God also provided the artisans with the skills to prepare the various pieces of silverwork, tapestries and woodwork.  None of this should be lost on us as we observe what God did in providing for the building of His Tabernacle.

So what?  How does this matter to me?

Well, our God does not change.  The God that provided that detail to Moses in building that Tabernacle is the same God that is living and active today.  He is at work with His plan and we know by observing His ways that His method is not to get into a project and decide what happens next on the fly.  His plan has been established from the beginning.  And His plan is detailed down to the finest point, we don’t need to wonder whether that is true.  Thankfully, we have passages like this to see a glimpse of the detail our Lord considers.

It is unlikely that any one of us will be asked by God to build Him a tent.  But we do know that every Christian is considered a part of the body of Christ (see 1 Cor 12) and as such has a function to fulfill.  In context our function is not a haphazard unplanned effort that we make up on the fly.  Our Lord has a design in mind.

OK – so, I’m supposed to be working on some project.  What?  How?

I cannot tell you what your project for God is but I know He has something in mind for you.  I do know that doing nothing is NOT it.  Discerning God’s will for your life is an ongoing process and it involves time in His word, time under Biblical teaching, time in prayer and time in fellowship with believers to gain godly counsel.  This passage comes to mind, "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 (NASB)

Our steps are laid before us – we simply need to walk in them. AMEN!
